BANGKOK - The National Health Security Office (NHSO) is set to host a significant conference to promote and develop the practice of One Day Surgery (ODS) and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) in Thaila
Recognizing the importance of enhancing surgical procedures' quality and safety, the NHSO has rolled out a policy to encourage all institutions to understand the significance of these advanced surgical methods. This move aligns with the national drive towards ensuring patient and healthcare personnel safety.
The conference will be held from on August 31, 2566,10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Centra Government Complex Hotel & Convention Center Chaeng Watthana. The morning session, led by esteemed professionals such as Dr. Kriddhiya Sriprasert and Dr. Rachanid Pornvipavee, will focus on preparations and discussions internally among professionals. The event will continue with welcoming remarks, followed by comprehensive presentations detailing the overview of ODS and MIS operations in Thailand and Europe.
Further bolstering the event's significance, the Royal Thai College of Anesthesiologists has scheduled their 98th Annual Academic Meeting and the 23rd ASEAN Congress of Anesthesiologists from September 1-3 at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Bangkok. One of the highlights includes a lecture titled "Sharing Experience in Day One Surgery from Europe to Thailand."
Moreover, on the said date, the Siriraj Hospital's Department of Anesthesiology has arranged for Dr. Xavier Falerers, President of the Dutch Association of Day Care & Short Stay (NVDK) and Executive Committee member of the International Association for Ambulatory Surgery (IAAS), along with a committee of seven, to discuss the ODS and MIS systems. This consultation at the NHSO aims to elevate One Day Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery services to international standards. NHSO will use knowledge from the conference to adapt and apply it to the management of ODS and MIS.
