Korean National Health Insurance Service Engages in In-depth Collaboration Talks with Thai Health Organizations
Experts from Korea's National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) are set for a week-long series of in-depth discussions with Thai health organizations from the 4th to the 8th of September. Facilitated by the National Health Security Office (NHSO) of Thailand, these meetings aim to strengthen mutual understanding of health insurance systems and financial management practices, with the NHSO playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth transportation of Korean experts to various organizations throughout the week.
On Monday, 4th September, a full-day session is set at the NHSO where the delegation will explore governance structures, the financial management status, operational information systems, and delve into claims and review processes.
Come Tuesday, the focus shifts to the Social Security Office (SSO) in the morning, discussing similar themes as with the NHSO. The afternoon is reserved for the Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI), where the conversation will pivot to overarching strategies aimed at improving health system governance and potential reforms.
Wednesday sees a dual engagement. The morning is dedicated to the Division of Health Economics and Health Security, Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) with a focus on major policy discussions in healthcare and insurance. The latter half of the day brings the team back to the NHSO, this time concentrating on the CGD content. Here, discussions on allocation standards, financial crisis management in public health security, and related policies take the forefront.
The dialogues continue on Thursday with a full-day engagement at Banphaeo General Hospital. The delegation will focus on the details of revenue components, claims procedures, and the hospital's information systems.
Rounding off the week on Friday, a pivotal meeting with officials from NHSO and SSO. This engagement aims to align on the direction of financial management consultancy and share details of upcoming events, including an invitational workshop in Korea.
The exhaustive series of interactions over the week signifies the depth and intent of collaboration between South Korea's NHIS and Thailand's health institutions. Both nations anticipate that this mutual exchange of knowledge and strategies will fortify their respective National Health Insurance schemes.
