NHSO and JICA project visit the Child Development Center at Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality, Nong Khai Province

NHSO visited the Child Development Center at Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality, Muang District, Nong Khai Province, which is a model area for health security on February 21, 2022,
Dr. Kawee Veerasethakul, Director of National Health Security Office (NHSO) Region 8 Udon Thani and Dr. Takuma Kato, Chief Advisor of Thailand Japan partnership Project for Global Health and Universal Health Coverage (GLO+UHC Phase II) visited the Child Development Center. Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Nong Khai Province, Mr. Suriya Phromkrot, the Mayor of Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality, together with the administrators gave a welcome speech and briefed the management plan of the Child Development Center.

Dr. Kawee said that Thailand and Japan have a project to develop universal health coverage together with JICA are interested in the implementation of child development centers. Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang District, Nong Khai Province, which is a model area for study visits on health security of other local governments in Thailand and in the ASEAN region focused on child care center management where Japan will bring the results of an explicit knowledge to develop universal health coverage for Thai and Japanese and apply the knowledge to develop the potential of other local government in Thailand and other countries that need universal health coverage especially in ASEAN region because the main part to being healthy of the people, not only in one country, Disseminating knowledge of universal health coverage of Thailand and Japan to the international level In which Thailand and Japan will join in training countries that want to develop a universal health insurance system.

Dr. Takuma mentioned that under the cooperation Thailand and Japan will organize training sessions and exchange experiences for the development of universal health coverage. Certification of countries wishing to study in the field of health security by sending experts from Thailand and Japan to countries that need knowledge including sending representatives from all sectors in the Thai public health sector to train in Japan to make policy proposals and jointly disseminate knowledge at the Prince Mahidol Award International Conference and various international conferences which enables the sharing of information between the two countries for countries that want to develop universal health coverage to create a network for future policy advocacy. It also promotes the image and role of Thailand and Japan in pushing health issues on the global stage.

Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality Child Development Center has been a lot of progress and there is an emphasis on teaching on-site more than online, including preventing various diseases very well, apart from that It has preventive care and also focuses on caring for Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) children. In Japan, there is also a focus on this group of children, especially in childcare centers. After that, the delegation traveled to visit the Child Development Center, Nong Song Hong Subdistrict Municipality, supported by the budget of  National Health Security Local/Community Health Fund and visited to classrooms for young children 2-3 years and 3-5 years, promoting the development of young children, intelligence and IQ, including a study visit on community and local participation, especially exercises to health promotion and prevention, etc.
